Installing a Side Imaging or Down Imaging transducer in the hull
Transducer placement plays an important role in getting the best sonar performance. Review the information below before considering an inside-the-hull installation for Side Imaging or Down Imaging.
- Side Imaging transducers: Beams shoot out to the side of the transducer therefore they cannot be epoxied into the hull and work properly.
- Down Imaging: Shooting through the hull of a fiberglass boat causes the signal to be lost.
