Stow & Deploy

  • Deploy
    To deploy the motor (run down) press and release the DOWN button on the tiller that will automatically lower the motor into the water. A second press of DOWN will stop the motor at that point.
  • Stow/Trim
    To retract the motor or trim up press and hold the UP button. It is a momentary button, this way the user can fine tune the depth.

  • Breakaway Mounting Bracket
    Attaches the motor to the boat. It allows the mounting system to break away on impact and is easy to reset.
  • Transom Clamp Screws
    The bracket sits over the top of the boat transom. By tightening the clamp screws (by hand) it will clamp to the transom and hold the motor to the boat. Loosen clamp screws to remove the motor from the transom.
  • Bracket Tension and Angle Adjustment Screw
    Used to set the angle adjustment. Hand tight.

  • On/Off Switch
    Push the switch into power the motor on and push the switch again to power off. A LED indicator will illuminate when the power is on.
  • Up/Down Button
    Press button to run motor up or down (stow/deploy/trim.)
  • Speed Control
    Variable speed. Turn the control button on the tiller counterclockwise to decrease speed and clockwise to increase speed.

  • Tilt/Extend Tiller
    The Hand Tiller tilts up to a 45° and extends up to 6”.

Articulated Steering

The tiller has a 4:1 steering ration which enables the consumer to rotate the lower unit 180° by moving the tiller just 45°.

Back Trolling

The orientation of the lower unit can be changed for back trolling. With the speed set at 0 and the lower unit trimmed to the fully deployed position, the consumer can slide the latch knob to the front and hold it while aligning the directional arrow with the handle and slightly twisting the indicator knob left or right while pulling up until the alignment is achieved and the indicator knob is free. Lift and turn the indicator knob counterclockwise 180°, then align the indicator in its new position and press down to re-seat and release the latch knob.
