Troubleshooting your Digital Charger (2010-2023)

If you are having issues with your Digital Charger, you can do some basic troubleshooting. Click on the button below to open the troubleshooting guide. The troubleshooting guide covers Digital Chargers made 2010 to present.

Using LED Lights to Troubleshoot

• Solid Red LED- Check Connections
  1. Check the polarity of the leads to the battery.
  2. Check the connections to the battery and fuses in the output cord.
  3. Check the voltage at the battery. The Digital Charger will not charge a battery that is below 4 volts or above 18 volts.

• Flashing Red LED- Temperature Sensor Error
  1. Reset the charger by unplugging the AC Cord. Wait for all LEDs to turn off.
  2. Plug in the AC Cord.
  3. If still not working, click here to contact us.
• Flashing Red and Green LED- Battery may be damaged
  1. Check to makes sure there are not any loads on the battery.
  2. Check the fluids in the battery and add fluid if necessary.
  3. If the battery voltage does not rise above 10.5 volts in 3 hours or if the absorption voltage does not increase to 14.4 volts (at 77F)), the bank will shut down and will not charger. The battery should be tested.

Indicators will not illuminate

1. Make sure the charger is plugged into an AC outlet.
2. Check the AC power at the outlet.
3. Make sure the GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) for the outlet has not tripped.
4. If an extension cord is being used, check the power at the end of the extension cord.

Charger powers up and then turns off

1. If an extension cord is being used, check the power at the end of the extension cord.
2. Extension Cord AWG is too small- refer to the chart below for correct AWG.
3. Very low AC voltage is applied to the charger.
