Compatibility

The Bluetooth i-Pilot Remote is compatible with Bluetooth i-Pilot Controllers (2017-2023). It is not compatible with Legacy i-Pilot Controllers (2007-2016).

  • Bluetooth i-Pilot is compatible with the motors below if the motor has Bluetooth i-Pilot installed.
    • Ultrex (2016-2023)
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra (2015-2023)
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova (2017-2023)
    • PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive (2017-2023)

The Legacy i-Pilot Remote is compatible with Legacy i-Pilot Controllers (2007-2016). It is not compatible with Bluetooth i-Pilot Controllers (2017-current).

  • Legacy i-Pilot is compatible with the motors below if the motor has Legacy i-Pilot installed.
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra (2015-2016) (uses the i-Pilot 1.5 Ulterra Remote)
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova (2007-2016)
    • PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive (2007-2016)

Legacy i-Pilot Remote Version

There are 2 versions of the Legacy i-Pilot Remote. The i-Pilot 1.5 Ulterra Remote has Trim Up, Trim Down, and Stow/Deploy buttons specifically to control the Ulterra. The i-Pilot 1.5  does not have these buttons. These remotes are not interchangeable.

Learning/Pairing

 

Pairing Bluetooth i-Pilot Remote

  1. Power on your motor
    • Ultrex- Press the power button on the foot pedal.
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra- Press the power button on the base of the motor.
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova- Press the power button on the base of the motor.
    • PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive- Deploy the motor.
  2. Power on the remote by pressing the OK button in the top right corner of the keypad.

  3. Press the Home button.
  4. Use the Menu Up and Menu Down buttons to find the System menu at the bottom of the display screen.

  5. Use the Right Softkey to select the System menu.
  6. Use the Menu Up and Menu Down buttons to find the Pair option.
  7. Before selecting the Pair Option, locate the Pair Button on the top of the Control Head. Press and hold the Pair button. A consistent tone will be emitted from the Control Head.

  8. On the remote, use the Ok button to select the Pair option from the System menu. The Remote will scan for the motor.
  9. Once successfully paired, 3 longer beeps will be emitted from the Control Head and the remote will be paired.

Pair your Legacy i-Pilot Remote

  1. Power on your motor
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra- Press the power button on the base of the motor.
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova- Deploy the motor.
    • PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive- Deploy the motor.
  2. On the motor, press and hold the "Learn" button. A consistent tone will be emitted from the Control Head.Legacy_IP_Controller.png
  3. While pressing and holding the Learn button on the control head, press any button on the remote.
  4. Once successfully paired, 3 longer beeps will be emitted from the Control Head and the remote will be paired.

Changing the Battery

Bluetooth i-Pilot Remote

The Remote is powered by three Alkaline AAA batteries.

  1. Disconnect the Motor from the battery or make sure that the Remote is out of range from the receiver before replacing the remote batteries.
  2. Power the Remote off.
  3. Make sure hands are clean, dry and static free. Discharge any static electricity by touching a metal object that is grounded.
  4. Using a #1 Phillips Screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the Battery Cover in place.
  5. Lift the Battery Cover from the Remote to gain access to the batteries.
  6. Replace the three Alkaline AAA batteries.
  7. Make sure the rubber seal on the Battery Cover is seated and replace the cover on the back of the remote.
  8. Replace the two screws and tighten them with a #1 Phillips Screwdriver.

Legacy i-Pilot Remote

The Remote is powered by one CR2450 battery.

  1. With the remote upside down, use a large coin to rotate the Battery Cover counterclockwise until either of the Unlock Icons align with the Arrow.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover and old battery and replace with a new CR2450 coin cell battery. Note the proper polarity of the battery.
  3. Ensure the rubber O-ring is properly seated in the underside of the Battery Cover. Replace battery cover by aligning either of the Unlock icons with the arrow, and pressing the cover down.
  4. Rotate the Battery Cover clockwise using the large coin until the Lock Icon aligns with the Arrow.

Range

The range of the i-Pilot Remotes is 30 feet. The range of the remote will be greatly reduced if it is used near or mounted to any metal object including aluminum or steel. It is also recommended that the front end of the remote not be obstructed during use.
