Compatibility

The Bluetooth i-Pilot Link Remote is compatible with Bluetooth i-Pilot Link Controllers (2017-2023). It is not compatible with Legacy i-Pilot Link Controllers (2007-2016).

  • Bluetooth i-Pilot Link is compatible with the motors below if the motor has Bluetooth i-Pilot Link installed.
    • Ultrex (2016-2023)
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra (2015-2023)
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova (2017-2023)

The Legacy i-Pilot Link Remote is compatible with Legacy i-Pilot Link Controllers (2007-2016). It is not compatible with Bluetooth i-Pilot Link Controllers (2017-current).

  • Legacy i-Pilot Link is compatible with the motors below if the motor has Legacy i-Pilot Link installed.
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra (2015-2016)
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova (2007-2016)
    • PowerDrive and Riptide PowerDrive (2007-2016)

Pairing Bluetooth i-Pilot Link Remote

  1. Power on your motor
    • Ultrex- Press the power button on the foot pedal.
    • Ulterra and Riptide Ulterra- Press the power button on the base of the motor.
    • Terrova and Riptide Terrova- Press the power button on the base of the motor.
  2. Power on the remote by pressing the OK button in the top right corner of the keypad.

  3. Press the Home button.
  4. Scroll through the Content Area using either your finger or the Screen Navigation button to find the System button.
  5. Select the System button using either your finger or by pressing the Ok button to open the System Menu.

  6. Once in the System Menu, scroll through to find the Pairing option.

  7. Before selecting the Pairing Option, locate the Pair Button on the top of the Control Head. Press and hold the Pair button. A continuous tone will be emitted from the Control Head. You will need to press and hold the Pair button until the motor is fully paired. The continuous tone will change to 3 beeps when pairing is complete.

  8. On the remote, select the Pairing option. The Remote will scan for the motor.
  9. Once successfully paired, 3 longer beeps will be emitted from the Control Head and the remote will be paired.

Pair your Legacy i-Pilot Link Remote

The Legacy i-Pilot Link remote is pre-learned to the controller from the factory. The top of the controller has a single learn button to allow additional remotes to be added to the system. To learn additional remotes:

  1. Power up the trolling motor.
  2. Push and hold the learn button down. A steady audio tone will be heard while holding this button.
  3. While holding the learn button on the controller, from the remote home screen select: Controls > Learn and press the OK key.
  4. If the learn process was successful, the controller will respond with four beeps. In addition, the Dashboard section of the remote will begin to display motor status information such as prop speed.
  • A remote can only be learned to one controller at a time.
  • A controller can have up to 4 remotes learned to it and actively communicating with it.

Charge the Remote

Both the Bluetooth i-Pilot Link Remote and Legacy i-Pilot Link Remote use the same charging cable. 

Range

The range of the i-Pilot Remotes is 30 feet. The range of the remote will be greatly reduced if it is used near or mounted to any metal object including aluminum or steel. It is also recommended that the front end of the remote not be obstructed during use.
